Lady Warriors Dominate the Week and Capture Natalia Tournament Championship
The Lady Warriors delivered a commanding opening week, securing four straight wins and claiming the Natalia Tournament Championship. Their success came from balanced scoring, rebounding strength, and suffocating defense.
Across their four wins, several Lady Warriors turned in standout performances:
- Alec Alvarado led the team in scoring multiple times, including 9 points vs. GH Forest Heights and 8 points vs. Natalia, while consistently adding rebounds and assists.
- Jaycee Crawley posted strong shooting nights with 10 points vs. GH Forest and 6 points vs. Dilley, and pulled down 5 rebounds in multiple contests.
- Ramsie Hewes provided reliable interior scoring and rebounding, including 10 points and 7 rebounds vs. GH Forest Heights.
- Holly Alvarado delivered one of the week’s top performances with 15 points and 3 rebounds vs. Natalia, along with several steals that shifted momentum.
- Kenna Nichols added steady production on both ends, with 8 points and 3 rebounds vs. Medina, helping anchor the defensive pressure.
The Lady Warriors consistently out-rebounded opponents throughout tournament play, highlighted by double-digit team totals in every game — a key factor in controlling tempo and creating second-chance scoring.
Head Coach Jessica Fierro shared her pride in the group.
“What I love most about this team is their fight,“ said Coach Jessica Fierro. "We may be small in numbers, but we play with heart, discipline, and trust in each other. Every game we’re sharpening our identity. We’re just getting started.”

Brady Tournament
Small Numbers, Big Heart
The Lady Warriors competed in the Brady Tournament under challenging circumstances, battling through a demanding slate of games while dealing with illness and limited availability. Despite the obstacles, the team never lacked effort or heart, leaning into the opportunity to grow and improve with each possession.
In a hard-fought 46–45 win over Cooper, the Lady Warriors showed resilience on both ends of the floor, shooting 50% from three-point range and forcing turnovers that helped swing momentum late . Defensive pressure and timely stops were a consistent theme throughout the tournament, even in losses to Harper, May, and Childress, where the Lady Warriors continued to battle against deeper, more experienced rosters.
Despite limited numbers and heavy minutes, several Lady Warriors delivered standout performances throughout the Brady Tournament:
- Jaycee Crawley emerged as a steady two-way presence, logging heavy minutes while contributing double-digit scoring in tournament play, along with strong rebounding and defensive activity.
- Kenna Nichols continued to anchor the defense, consistently pulling down rebounds and providing interior pressure.
- Brooke Alvarado showed efficiency from the perimeter, knocking down key outside shots and stretching the floor offensively while also contributing on the defensive glass.
- Ramsie Hewes made the most of her minutes, providing a spark with high shooting efficiency, hustle plays, and defensive rebounds — an example of the next-player-up mentality this team embraced.
Across the tournament, the Lady Warriors were forced into expanded roles, and the experience gained by multiple players taking on additional responsibility will be invaluable as the season continues. These ladies emphasized defensive intensity, rebounding, and ball movement—key building blocks as the season progresses.
“We had girls step into bigger roles than they’re used to and that kind of experience is something you can’t replicate in practice. What stood out to me wasn’t the scoreboard—it was the effort,” said Jessica Fierro, Lady Warriors Head Coach. “These girls never stopped competing, even when we were short-handed. Their desire to improve is strong, and that’s something you can build on.”

Ingram Tom Moore 41, Florence 24
- The Lady Warriors showed impressive efficiency in the paint, converting 12 of 31 two-point attempts (38.7%) while holding Florence to just 31.6% on two-pointers. Their 18 points in the paint were nearly double Florence's 10.
- Florence heavily relied on three-point attempts, taking 24 shots from beyond the arc (making just 4) compared to Ingram's more selective 10 three-point attempts. This volume shooting strategy proved ineffective, contributing to their low overall field goal percentage.
- Plus/minus stats reveal Ramsie Hewes (+19) and Ava DeMasco (+16) had the biggest positive impact when on the floor. Every Florence player except Rivers Vandyke (+1) finished with a negative plus/minus, indicating Ingram's consistent dominance across different lineup combinations.
- Despite the lopsided score, both teams struggled with ball security - Ingram had 20 turnovers while Florence committed 23. However, Ingram was more effective at capitalizing on these mistakes, scoring 12 points off turnovers to Florence's 15.
- The free throw line proved to be a significant advantage for Ingram, who went 11-for-20 (55%) while Florence attempted just two free throws all game, missing both. This disparity in free throw attempts suggests Ingram was more aggressive in attacking the basket.
