Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Brian Tollett
I graduated from Baird High School in Baird, TX and joined the US Army. I was stationed at Schofield Barracks, HI. After completing one semester towards my teaching/coaching degree at Stephen F. Austin State University, I was called back into the Army to serve as part of Operation Desert Storm in the Persian Gulf.
Upon leaving the military, for a second time, I began working in construction and raising a family. I have four beautiful daughters. My three oldest daughters have all graduated with college degrees while my youngest is currently a sophomore at Texas Tech University. After seeing my daughters finish their education, I was motivated to continue mine. After 21 years in the construction industry I enrolled in school full time to pursue my original passion of teaching and coaching.
I graduated from Norco College with two Associate degrees and transferred to Texas Tech University. While at Texas Tech I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, and a Master’s degree in Sport Management. I hold a Social Studies Composite 7-12 teaching certificate.
While attending classes at Norco College I was fortunate to join the coaching staff of Norco High School and begin my coaching career. I coached Varsity wide receivers, as well as was assistant Offensive Coordinator. I was eventually promoted to the Head Coach of the JV while maintaining my Varsity positions. Once I transferred to Texas Tech I began missing day to day coaching, I found that opportunity in helping re-build a winning football program at Coronado High School as an intern, coaching quarterbacks and wide receivers. After two years at Coronado, the coaching staff was finally fully staffed and they no longer needed my services as an intern. After I left Coronado, I found another internship opportunity at Monterey High School helping turn around the Plainsmen football team, once again coaching quarterbacks and wide receivers.
I began my classroom teaching career at Lubbock ISD, teaching 7th Grade Texas History while coaching quarterbacks and defensive backs in football, basketball, and track. As happens in life, things changed again, and I found myself looking to be closer to family in both the Abilene and greater Houston area.
I was blessed to find an opening at Ingram ISD where I teach 7th Grade Texas History and coach football, basketball, track. The people I have had the opportunity to work with, the students God has placed in my care, and the parents of those precious children have all been absolutely wonderful and I completely love my time in Ingram. This community is truly a special place, IPI!
