Hello Warrior Parents! My name is Melanie Bonam. My husband and 4 children moved to the Hill Country 10 years ago from the suburbs of Fort Worth. We loved the outdoor lifestyle and the beauty of the hill country. My children are Ryan, McKenzie, Karlie, and Summer. All have been a part of being an Ingram Warrior.
I received most of my college education from Ouachita Baptist University where I played 4 years of volleyball and earned All AIC 2 years and All NAIA 3 years. After my 4th season, I transferred to Dallas Baptist University where my mother was on staff. I graduated from DBU with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Before becoming a teacher, I decided to have a career in cosmetology. After 13 years of working in a salon, I decided it was time to follow my heart and become a teacher. I began working as an Aid at Tally Elementary for 2 1/2 years, then was hired as a 1st grade teacher at Ingram in 2012. This is my 8th year as a teacher for Ingram ISD. I have taught 1st grade, 4th grade ELA, 8th grade ELA and now AVID.
I have had the privilege of seeing my first year students develop into amazing young men and women now at the middle school. During the fall I coach volleyball for the 8th grade and in the spring I am the JV softball/Varsity Assistant coach. My passion is helping students become the best person they can be academically. I look forward to many more years of being a Warrior.
