In a press conference this afternoon, Governor Abbott announced that school facilities will remain closed for the remainder of the year. While we are disappointed that we will not be resuming normal operations, we remain committed to supporting our students, parents, and Ingram ISD families as we move forward. Ingram ISD will continue remote instruction for the remainder of the school year. Additionally, we will continue to provide remote instruction in critical content areas through a robust summer learning opportunity that you will hear more about soon.
Facilities remaining closed brings up a lot of questions and concerns around normal proceedings that happen at the end of each school year...such as awards and promotion ceremonies, graduation, etc. More information will be provided by the campus administrators in the weeks to come. This is unchartered territory for all of us, and together we will work through these issues and update you just as quickly as we can.
We recognize the additional burden that the COVID-19 pandemic and remote learning has placed on our families. Know that we are in this together. If your child needs academic help, please reach out to his/her teachers or campus administrators. If your child is in need of counseling assistance, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s campus counselor. You can find phone numbers and emails for all staff members on our new website. In the meantime, we will not be waiting to hear from you. We will be reaching out to you and checking in on you and our students. If you need anything, let us know.
Meal service will continue, and we will be adding meal service for weekend meals as well. Weekend meals will be picked up on Friday morning at the same time as regular meal pickup time. Check our website for details. If you have any questions regarding meal service, please contact your child’s campus principal or our food service director, April Steele at email@example.com.
It has been exciting to see all of the learning that our students are continuing to do at home. We know that is due to our committed students and the tremendous support their parents and teachers are giving them. Thank you for your overwhelming support and participation in remote learning.
