A-F ACCOUNTABILITY SYSTEM OVERVIEW

  • House Bill 22, passed by the 85th Texas Legislature, overhauled the accountability system for the state of Texas. Accountability ratings are designed on a letter grade scale using A through F, with districts' "grades" based on performance in three domains:

    1. Student Achievement
    2. School Progress
    3. Closing the Gaps

    The letter grades for our elementary and middle schoolsl are based solely on student performance on the state assessments for STAAR and TELPAS. The high school and district aacountability also include College, Career, and Military Readiness of our previous year's graduates along with the graduation rate of that class. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has developed a one-page overview of the accountability system which is shown below.
