Hi! Welcome to Mrs. Smurr's Seussical Things!! I am so glad that you're here. 

I was born and raised in Boerne, TX, where I stilll reside with my family. My husband, Tyler, is a Science teacher at Holmgreen Center in NISD. I have two kids: Cooper (19), and Sadie (15), a sophomore at Boerne High School. I graduated from UTSA in 2000 and have been teaching ever since. I taught first grade in BISD for 14 years, and this is my eighth year in IISD.

In my time away from school, I love to road trip and camp with my family. We have explored some incredible places in our amazing country! I'm also an avid reader, crafter, and quilter. Our family seems to "collect" animals, and we currently have the following: four Labs, a German Shephard/Husky mix, four cats, three horses, a fish, three snails, a veiled chameleon, and 20-something chickens. We're an outdoor-loving family and can often be found swimming, horseback riding, or hanging out in our hammocks around our fire pit.

I look forward to a wonderful year with your child where we will be learning tons and having a whole lot of fun!
