AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. All of our middle school students take the AVID elective course as part of Ingram ISD's middle school curriculum. Once students transition into high school, AVID is offered as an elective class to help support students as they engage in advanced academic coursework. The AVID curriculum includes components of academic instruction and tutorial support, strengthens students' writing skills, improves study and organization skills, increases "college knowledge", and explores colleges and careers.
